In response to the mandate of the Italian Ministry of Culture regarding activities connected to “Trampolino” residencies, Lavanderia a Vapore — the residency centre of the Piedmont Region — developed a new open and dynamic framework conceived as an effective scouting initiative, in dialogue with local dance schools.
For the 2021/2022 season, within the broader project Swans Never Die, the four Piedmont-based dance production organizations supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture collaborated on this initiative: Balletto Teatro di Torino, Codeduomo, Zerogrammi and Fondazione Egri per la Danza.
The result is a highly professionalizing pathway which, by accompanying the production activities of the companies throughout the season, offers young dancers — selected through audition — the opportunity to engage with different yet complementary artistic visions and poetics surrounding the complex process of creation, while acquiring and refining the essential tools of the performer’s profession.
