  • Enrico is a performance inspired by the figure of Enrico Cecchetti, a famous Italian dancer and ballet master, creator of the well-known method that bears his name.

    The technique and virtuosity of his method become research and study tools to access the vulnerability of performers who inevitably reveal their human side on stage.

    As a performer and as an author, I have always nurtured a strong fascination for methodology in general because I believe that, in the execution of a virtuosity, the human side of those who practice it is concealed; precisely for this reason, the technique and virtuosities of the Cecchetti Method become instruments of research and study to access the vulnerability of performers who inevitably reveal their human side on stage.

    With Enrico, my desire is to create a shared experience between the audience and the dancers, attempting to generate an empathetic channel of communication between the stage and the spectators through the practice and repetition of movements that characterize a lesson by Maestro Cecchetti, which become a ritual gesture and therefore a gesture of communion between everyone.     Currently, classical ballet is the best known type of live performance and this allows it to be 'accessible' to the eye, but perceived as an art that can be performed by a few, by an elite.

    So what would happen if this technique were to be 'normalized' and become within everyone's reach? Could Enrico Cecchetti's Port Des Bras become a common language replicable by everyone?
