CORPOMEMORIA
PERFORMANCES, PHOTOGRAPHIC PROJECTS, VIDEO PROJECTS
CORPOMEMORIA is a choreographic, visual, and performative research project exploring the relationship between memory, body, and time, investigating how the past continues to shape the present and how movement can become a means of knowledge, testimony, and transformation.
At the heart of the research is the body understood as a living archive: a place where individual experiences, collective memories, gestures, and layers of time accumulate. An archive that is never static, but continually transforms through experience and relationships with others.
Documents, images, testimonies, and audiovisual materials enter into dialogue with choreographic practice, not simply as records to be preserved or represented, but as material to be reactivated. In the passage from document to gesture, memory acquires new possibilities of expression and becomes a sensory and shared experience.
This perspective also recognises the political dimension of the body. Every body carries the traces of its own time and, through dance, exposes them to the gaze of others. The stage thus becomes a relational space where personal memories and collective histories can meet, be questioned, and transformed.
The project unfolds alongside the twenty-fifth anniversary of Zerogrammi's founding, offering an opportunity to revisit the company's tangible and intangible heritage: creations, practices, images, encounters, and relationships that continue to live in the bodies of those who have been part of its history.
CORPOMEMORIA unfolds through different artistic trajectories, each autonomous in form and language, yet united by a shared investigation into the perception of time and the relationship between bodymemory and gesturedocument.
The research explores three temporal dimensions — past, future, and present — understood not as separate territories, but as experiences that coexist and continually transform within individual and collective perception.
01 / PAST
Elegy of Lost Things
An exploration of memory, absence, and the traces left behind by what disappears. The body moves through inner landscapes and real places, giving form to memories, losses, and a sense of belonging. Dance becomes a practice of remembrance and transformation, in which the past continues to manifest itself through gesture.
02 / FUTURE
The Tale of the Unknown Island
Inspired by the work of José Saramago, the project explores desire, imagination, and the possibility of what does not yet exist. The future takes shape as a space of projection, exploration, and change. The body confronts the unknown and the tension towards what has yet to happen.
03 / PRESENT
STILL
An exploration of presence, attention, and the elasticity of lived time. Through stillness, duration, and observation, STILL investigates what becomes perceptible when the gaze lingers on things. The present emerges as a meeting place between memory and anticipation, where even the smallest gesture can reveal a particular intensity.
Alongside stage productions, CORPOMEMORIA takes shape through video projects, installations, workshop practices, and site-specific actions.
Each format offers an autonomous way of engaging with the research, expanding its languages and creating new opportunities for encounters with audiences.
