SYNOPSIS
A traveling workshop in movement and dance techniques
curated by Amina Amici
I move, I am moving, I am being moved.
Where does movement originate, and where does it go?
The workshop focuses on movement awareness and its different qualities, exploring the management and construction of weight and direction in space, as well as the relationships that emerge from them. The work includes a section dedicated to warm-up practices and bodily apperception, aimed at training and refining the body’s expressive capacities and potential.
The practice strengthens a dynamic, powerful, and at the same time reflective physicality, through the principles of organic movement, grounded in the use of deep musculature and joint mobility. Work on vertical posture is a crucial passage and also a key perspective for approaching choreography.
Flexibility, breath, yielding and resistance, listening.
Where movement is born and where it finds support, and how it then projects itself into space, in a continuous relationship between inside and outside, between myself and what is other than me.
The gaze: what do I look at when I dance, and where? Toward whom, toward what?
