A FUTURA MEMORIA
A PARTICIPATORY PROJECT
The project emerges from Zerogrammi’s artistic and relational research, which for years has been dedicated to building a dialogue between choreographic creation, communities and territories. At the heart of the work are memory, belonging and roots, together with the possibility of generating shared meaning through bodily experience.
A futura memoria views memory not as a static repository, but as a living, fragile and transformable material. The body becomes the place in which experiences, lived realities, absences and desires settle, only to re-emerge through gesture, relationship and storytelling.
The project’s poetic landscape moves between nostalgia and loss, dream and reality, distance and the desire to belong. The exile it evokes is not only geographical, but also inner: a condition of suspension between what has been and what has not yet come to be. From this tension emerges a generative possibility, in which loss can be reworked and transformed into movement, narrative and presence.
A futura memoria unfolds through experiential and participatory pathways developed in dialogue with the contexts that host it. Each activation begins with a co-design phase involving organisations, communities and local stakeholders, in order to define together objectives, timing, working methods and possible forms of public presentation.
The process is grounded in practical workshops in which dance and movement become tools for relationship, listening and storytelling. Participants are guided in bringing forth their memories, lived experiences and personal imaginaries, gradually transforming them into a shared vocabulary.
The project maintains a strong continuity with the company’s creations, moving through their themes and poetic trajectories while offering communities an active space in which to rework the artistic work. In this sense, each process is not an ancillary activity, but an autonomous form of cultural activation capable of generating bonds, journeys and new possibilities for relationship.
Previous stages include experiences in Italy and abroad, among them Interconnessioni in Sardinia, Walzen in Turin and Collegno, the international project Be Part OF_Elegy of Lost Things in Iceland, and Danzando memorie sul mare in Pesaro.
