A FUTURA MEMORIA

UN PROGETTO PARTECIPATIVO

*A futura memoria* is a community-based project intertwining dance, memory, and relationship, transforming the body into a living archive of experiences, roots, and shared imaginaries.

Through participatory pathways and movement practices, the project opens spaces of listening and proximity, where individual stories may become poetic material and collective narrative.

  • A futura memoria originates within Zerogrammi’s artistic and relational research, which for years has been oriented toward building a dialogue between choreographic creation, communities, and territories. At the centre of the work lie memory, belonging, roots, and the possibility of generating shared meaning through embodied experience.

A futura memoria approaches memory not as a fixed repository, but as a living, fragile, and transformable matter. The body becomes the place where experiences, lived realities, absences, and desires settle, only to re-emerge through gesture, relationship, and narration.

The project’s poetic landscape moves between nostalgia and loss, dream and reality, distance and the desire for belonging. The exile it evokes is not only geographical, but also interior: a condition of suspension between what has been and what is not yet. From this tension arises a generative possibility, in which loss may be reworked and transformed into movement, storytelling, and presence.

  • A futura memoria develops through experiential and participatory pathways created in dialogue with the contexts that host it. Each activation begins with a co-design phase involving institutions, communities, and local organisations in order to collectively define objectives, timing, working methods, and possibilities for public restitution.

The process is grounded in practical workshops where dance and movement become tools for relationship, listening, and storytelling. Participants are guided in bringing forth memories, lived experiences, and personal imaginaries, progressively transforming them into a shared vocabulary.

The project maintains a strong continuity with the company’s artistic creations, traversing their themes and poetic trajectories while offering communities an active space for re-elaborating the artistic work. In this sense, each pathway is not a collateral activity, but an autonomous form of cultural activation capable of generating relationships, crossings, and new possibilities for connection.

Previous stages include experiences in Italy and abroad, among them Interconnessioni in Sardinia, Walzen in Turin and Collegno, the international project Be Part OF_Elegia delle cose perdute in Iceland, and Danzando memorie sul mare in Pesaro.
