We have nothing truly our own except time, which even those without a home can enjoy.

Baltasar Gracián, The Courtier’s Manual

Nostos is a romantic abstraction on homelessness: a story told through the body, its manipulations, gestures and movements, in which the languages of dance and circus performance enter into dialogue.

The two dancer-actors on stage create and dismantle the stereotypes of the ordinary life of a typical couple, balancing a great sense of humour with existential drama. Thus the duo comes apart through boredom and routine, in search of the identities of the two individuals who bring it to life. The result is a sequence of tableaux—at times melancholic, at times dreamlike—which develop through illusion, play and the multiplication of objects.

In this carousel destined to repeat itself forever, the two grotesque dancer-clowns balance, whirl through the air like spinning tops, smile, challenge one another and place their trust in each other. (L. Maimone)
