In response to MiC’s mandate concerning activities linked to residency springboards, Lavanderia a Vapore—the Piedmont Region’s Centre for Residencies—has developed a new open and dynamic programme as an effective scouting initiative, in dialogue with local dance schools.

For the 2021/2022 season, as part of the wider project Swans Never Die, this initiative brings together the four dance production organisations in Piedmont supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture (MiC): Balletto Teatro di Torino, Codeduomo, Zerogrammi and Fondazione Egri per la Danza.

The result is a highly professionalising programme which, by accompanying the companies’ production activities throughout the season, offers young dancers selected through auditions the opportunity to encounter distinct yet complementary artistic approaches and visions within the multifaceted work of creation, while acquiring and refining the tools fundamental to a career as performers.
