In José Saramago's story, which inspired our show, the unknown island is not just a place to reach, but a journey to discover oneself.
The protagonist of the story asks for a boat not to escape, but to discover what he still doesn't know about himself.
The show concludes with a collection of voices that arise from this same question: why do we leave? why do we continue? why don't we stay?
Every contribution we receive is a small personal journey, a fragment of a journey, an intimate response to a collective desire.
The voices tell not only a scenic journey, but an internal movement: a contemporary echo of the unknown island, which does not exist until someone decides to search for it.
