FUORIGIOCO

A PERFORMANCE, A DOCUFILM

  • The project takes shape from the symbolic universe of play and sport, observed not merely as competitive practices but as social and cultural devices capable of constructing identities, rules, hierarchies, and forms of belonging.

Fuorigioco uses the body as an instrument of relationship and negotiation, questioning what happens when an individual enters or exits the shared rules of a community. The title itself evokes an unstable threshold between inclusion and exclusion, participation and marginality.

The project’s imagery is nourished by collective dynamics, athletic gestures, social rituals, and emotional tensions connected to the desire to belong to a group. The playful dimension coexists with a broader reflection on the construction of human relationships, individual fragilities, and the possibility of continuously redefining the rules of living together.

  • Fuorigioco developed through workshop practices, participatory pathways, and performative devices that place movement, listening, and collective interaction in dialogue.

The project privileges experiences built through direct engagement with participants, allowing the creative process to emerge from the relationships between bodies, the dynamics of the group, and the shared traversal of space.

The research moves between performative dimension and social practice, maintaining a strong adaptability to the hosting contexts and the communities involved. Over time, the project may generate new configurations, educational practices, and participatory trajectories dedicated to themes of relationship, cooperation, and inclusion.

BACK TO PROJECTS

“(...) With Fuorigioco, Emanuele Sciannamea succeeded in creating an outstanding work. Laughter, emotion, wonder, and reflection — these were the feelings awakened in the audience by the Turin-based choreographer with his latest performance, which premiered nationally at the Mirabilia Festival. (...) The performers were remarkable, engaged in fluid and well-structured choreographies that succeeded in conveying stories and emotions through subtle yet effective nuances, as well as moments of genuine hilarity among the spectators.”— F. Cassine

*Fuorigioco* is a research project dedicated to the relationship between body, rule, and collectivity. A poetic and physical exploration of the dynamics that define belonging, exclusion, competition, and cooperation within human groups.

Through the language of movement and play, the project questions the mechanisms that govern relationships, transforming the performative space into a terrain of encounter, tension, and shared possibility.
